Metro Competitions has launched a prize draw offering one winner a 14-night trip to Australia for two, valued at £35,000. The prize includes business class flights with Cathay Pacific, five-star hotel stays in Sydney, Melbourne, Uluru and Hamilton Island, private transfers, and £500 spending money.
Entry costs 50p, with a free postal entry route also available. The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding Northern Ireland, from 15:00 on 18 September 2026 until 23:59 on 1 November 2026.
Sydney and Melbourne highlights
The itinerary begins with four nights at Capella Sydney, ranked among the best hotels in the world, in a Premier King room with breakfast. Winners will enjoy a private excursion to the Blue Mountains, including Scenic World and wildlife experiences, plus a three-course dinner for two at Bennelong restaurant inside the Sydney Opera House, with a drinks allowance.
In Melbourne, three nights await at The Langham on the Yarra River, with breakfast included. A private full-day Yarra Valley wine experience features premium tastings and a vineyard lunch.
Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef
Two nights at Sails in the Desert in Uluru include a sunset experience at a private sand dune overlooking Ayers Rock and entry to the Field of Light installation by artist Bruce Munro, featuring 50,000 glowing spheres.
Hamilton Island offers three nights at qualia, an adults-only resort, in a Leeward Pavilion with breakfast. The package includes a full-day Great Barrier Reef experience, snorkelling among coral gardens, and access to paddleboards, catamarans and snorkelling gear.
