Tynemouth, a seaside town in the North East of England, has been described as 'unreal' by an American visitor who fell in love with its pubs, fish and chip shops, and two stunning beaches. The town narrowly missed out on being named the UK's best seaside location, finishing just two points behind Bamburgh in the latest Which? rankings.
Which? Rankings: Tynemouth Takes Silver
Bamburgh retained the top spot for the sixth consecutive year in the consumer experts' list, but Tynemouth came a close second, scoring 5/5 for its seafront, pier, and food and drink offerings. One visitor praised the 'wonderful fish and chips,' while another highlighted the 'magnificent' golden sand at King Edward's Bay and Longsands beaches.
American Content Creator Paige West's Love for Tynemouth
Paige West, an American content creator living in Tynemouth with her family, named days out in the town as one of the things she'll miss most about the UK as they prepare to move back to the States. She has filmed content showcasing local attractions, including Gosforth High Street, Pink Lane Bakery, and Corbridge, which she called 'something from a fairytale.'
In a video filmed while wandering through Tynemouth with her husband and children, Paige urged overseas visitors to 'make sure' they visit at least one seaside town during their UK travels. She described Laneway as 'the cutest' brunch spot and was drawn to the aroma from Longsands kitchen, a beloved local chippy, declaring she'd likely go there for lunch.
The video concluded with Paige looking out at the North Sea, remarking: 'The best part about a seaside town is the beach - look at that!'
