Saundersfoot Crowned Best Seaside Town in the UK
The Welsh coastline has been attracting visitors looking to swap overseas holidays for scenic breaks closer to home. Travel publication Time Out recently named Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire as the best seaside town in the UK for 2026, placing it ahead of well-known coastal destinations including Brighton, St Ives and Folkestone.
The picturesque harbour village is loved for its golden sandy beach, colourful waterfront, independent shops, cafés and restaurants, while also offering easy access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and nearby destinations such as Tenby and Amroth.
Neptune: A Spacious Holiday Home Steps from the Beach
Just 100 metres from Saundersfoot Beach, Neptune is a spacious four-bedroom holiday home sleeping up to eight guests and welcoming two dogs, making it ideal for larger families or groups. The impressive three-storey property, which was once part of a former church, sits just a short walk from the village centre, harbour and beach. Its upside-down layout has been designed to make the most of the coastal views, with the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space occupying the top floor, where guests can enjoy views across Saundersfoot Bay towards Monkstone Point.
The property features four en-suite bedrooms, a modern sitting room with bifold doors opening onto a decked terrace, and outdoor space complete with a hot tub, barbecue and seating area. One guest who stayed in the Neptune holiday home said: "Excellent property just a 5 minute stroll to the beach on a quiet lane. We would definitely return again and have no qualms in recommending the property to family and friends." Another visitor commented: "The house is spacious, comfortable, very clean and in a very convenient location for local shops and the beach. It was also very private and quiet given the central location. Having allocated parking spaces in the centre of the village was really valuable, but it’s worth noting if you are a group that it would be a bit of a squeeze to park two larger family sized cars in the cottage parking area, though the extra permits for the nearby car park helps to get round this."
The Boathouse: A Cosy Cottage for Smaller Groups
For smaller groups, Boathouse offers another luxury stay in Saundersfoot. Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms with two bathrooms, the pet-free property provides a peaceful base within easy reach of the beach and village amenities. The cottage-style home combines traditional character with contemporary interiors, featuring exposed beams and a vaulted ceiling in its bright open-plan living space. Outside, an enclosed patio with a built-in table and benches provides a sheltered spot for al fresco dining after a day exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline. One downside to the Boathouse cottage is there are no summer bookings on holidaycottages.co.uk available, with the latest date being in October.
