Rhossili Bay in Wales has been named the best beach in the UK, according to family holiday specialists Ski Famille. The golden stretch on the South Gower coast achieved 4.9 stars from 6,792 reviews, the only beach to reach that rating and clear the 1,000-review threshold.

Rhossili has been described as 'the supermodel of British beaches' by The Independent and has won accolades for being the best spot to have a picnic, one of the best surf spots in Wales, and the UK's most dog-friendly beach.
Framed by Worm's Head and Burry Holms, the skeletal remains of the 1887 shipwreck, the Helvetia, can often be seen on the sand at low tide. There is even the chance to spot basking seals and dolphins.
