New private day trips from Liverpool and Manchester airports in 2027
Private day trips from Liverpool and Manchester in 2027

A new private aviation service offering one-day trips for groups of six is set to launch from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport in 2027. THE SIX will allow passengers to book individual seats rather than charter an entire aircraft, with trips including return flights, transfers, dining and experiences at the destination.

Champagne region first on the itinerary

Its first planned departure will take passengers to France's Champagne region, with a flight time of approximately 90 minutes. The itinerary will include a private tour of a Champagne house, cellar tastings and lunch at the five-star Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa, before returning to the UK the same day.

The experience is priced at £3,495 per person and includes return private flights, chauffeured transfers, the Champagne house visit and tastings, lunch and Champagne before departure.

Booking options and aircraft exclusivity

Passengers will be able to book in groups of two, four or six, with a booking for all six seats giving the group exclusive use of the aircraft. THE SIX will organise each trip, from flights and ground transport to dining and activities.

THE SIX was founded by Duncan Falconer, who began his career in hospitality at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel before moving into aviation. He is now a commercial pilot, flying Boeing 787s for a UK airline. The business is backed by investor Jason Bligh, who met Duncan more than 20 years ago while they were both working at The Chester Grosvenor.

Future destinations and launch bases

Further destinations under consideration include the Isle of Islay for golf and whisky, Paris for Valentine's Day, Saint-Tropez during the summer and Ibiza. Bespoke trips will also be available for private groups marking occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, as well as corporate rewards.

Liverpool and Manchester have been selected as the launch bases, giving customers across Merseyside, the North West and the wider North of England access to the service without travelling to London.

Duncan said: "Through my career in aviation, I kept coming back to the same question: why does experiencing private air travel have to mean chartering an entire aircraft?"

"The idea for THE SIX came from seeing how much private aviation can change the experience of a short trip. We wanted to create a way for guests to book a place on the aircraft, while we take care of every detail around the journey, from arriving at the private terminal to returning home."

Jason added: "There is a strong luxury market across Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire and the wider North, but a significant amount of premium travel still centres on London."

"THE SIX gives us the opportunity to create something from Liverpool and Manchester that combines Duncan's aviation experience with a hospitality-led approach. The flight is an important part of the experience, but so is everything that happens around it."

Registrations of interest are now open at thesix.world. Those joining the waiting list will receive priority access to the first departures in 2027 ahead of the general release.
