More than 100 vintage commercial vehicles from a bygone era took centre stage on Saturday as the Ayrshire Roadrun made its annual procession through the region, drawing hundreds of spectators.
Static Display at Barony Campus
The event began with a static display at the Barony Campus in Cumnock, where the public could get up close to the vintage vehicles. According to Ayrshire Live, the display allowed engine buffs and families to admire the meticulously preserved lorries, buses, and other commercial vehicles.
Photographer Jamie Williamson captured the scene, including drone shots showing the vehicles lined up in formation. The static display attracted loads of families, who enjoyed a sensational afternoon viewing the magnificent vehicles.
Convoy Departs to Cheering Crowds
After the display, the convoy revved up their engines and departed en masse to rousing cheers from the hundreds of spectators. The vehicles then snaked through the Ayrshire region, reaching Portpatrick in the late afternoon. Williamson also captured aerial images of the convoy winding through the countryside.
The Ayrshire Vintage Commercial Vehicle Roadrun is organised by the Heritage Centre in Cumnock. Next year's event is scheduled for July 10-11.
