Manchester Christmas Markets open with 200 stalls across ten sites

The Manchester Christmas Markets opened on Saturday, drawing thousands of visitors to the city centre for the first weekend of the festive event.

The market features two hundred stalls selling a variety of food, drinks and quirky Christmas presents, spread across ten city centre locations.

Ten Locations Transformed

St Ann's Square, Market Street and New Cathedral Street are among the areas transformed for the event, which is now seen as one of the biggest of its kind in the country.

Albert Square also makes its return to the markets after six years away from the event.

First Weekend Crowds

On the crisp autumn Saturday afternoon, there was a noticeable buzz in the city centre as the festive spirit began to grow. Thousands made their way through the markets, with the crowds adding to the usually busy streets.

The event will continue across the ten locations throughout the season, with the stalls offering a range of seasonal goods and refreshments.
