Leeds Festival couple pay £300 for last-minute Creamfields tickets

A couple who left Leeds Festival early paid £300 for last-minute tickets to Creamfields, plus taxi costs, after claiming house music had been shut down at the Leeds event. Aiden Warhurst made a plea on Saturday, August 29, for a ticket to the Cheshire festival, saying all house music at Leeds Festival had been "shut down" following overcrowding issues.

Uber ride to Creamfields

On Facebook, Warhurst wrote: "All the house music at Leeds fest been shut down. Getting an Uber to Creamfields now. Will take ANY ticket we just need some oonts ooonts."

Following the request, several people responded on social media wishing the pair luck. One commenter wrote: "I'm invested, did you make it in." Another added: "Please let us all know if you manage to get in. Fingers crossed you do." A third queried: "Why has it stopped at Leeds? Because of the weather?" Warhurst replied: "Weather was fine. House stage too busy."

Cost of the last-minute move

Warhurst was able to secure tickets to the Cheshire festival, but said the last-minute move had cost an additional £300, with travel costs from Leeds to Daresbury on top of that. He said: "£300 tickets. Probably another £300 on this taxi meter. Absolutely no way of getting home 4am. It’s all for a good cause."

Responding to the post on Facebook, one person wrote: "This is the best post I’ve ever seen!! What a pair of soldiers ... hope you have the best time." A second added: "Randomly came up on my newsfeed and I really hope you made it in and are dancing your feet off!" A third wrote: "You guys are the the fun people. Hope you have a shamazing time." Another joked: "Kinda deserve it for going to Leeds festival when Creams is on at the same time nah joking hope you get in."
