Everton and Wales legend Neville Southall has received a wave of support from fans and the football community after sharing a health update on social media.
On Sunday morning (August 30), the 67-year-old former goalkeeper posted on X: "Won’t be on here for a bit not well."
The post quickly drew messages of encouragement from across the game, with hundreds of people letting the former Blues star know they were thinking of him.

Wales fan group The Barry Horns replied: "We love you Nev." Former Wales team-mate Iwan Roberts added: "Bless you Nev get better soon big man."
Journalist Daniel Storey wrote: "Keep well Nev, look after yourself x." BBC colleague Marc Webber said: "Get well soon, fella."
The post attracted almost 1,000 comments within hours of being published.
Career and recent health concerns
Southall won two League Championships, two FA Cups and a European Cup-Winners’ Cup with Everton in the 1980s, making 751 appearances for the club between 1981 and 1998. He also earned 92 caps for Wales and was considered one of the finest goalkeepers of his generation before retiring in 2002.
The Llandudno native previously played for Bury and later had spells at Stoke City and Bradford City before finishing his career at Dagenham and Redbridge.
Since retiring, Southall has been an outspoken advocate for mental health and LGBT rights. His health has been a concern in recent times — he was hospitalised last summer following an infection that left him on an intravenous drip.
The nature of his latest health issue is not yet known, but the former goalkeeper is set to receive plenty of support from across the football family.
