Jet2.com has announced a new direct flight route from Glasgow Airport to the Greek island of Kos, starting May 26, 2026. The weekly Tuesday service will run until October 20, 2026, offering travellers access to the island known for its sandy beaches and historical significance as the birthplace of Hippocrates.
Kos becomes Jet2's sixth Greek destination from Glasgow, joining Corfu, Heraklion (Crete), Kefalonia, Rhodes, and Zante. The airline's CEO, Steve Heapy, cited strong demand from customers and travel agents in Scotland for the expansion. Greece was recently ranked the world's second top travel destination by TrovaTrip, behind only Italy.
Passengers can enjoy a 22kg baggage allowance and explore Kos's blend of ancient relics, vibrant nightlife, and traditional cuisine. The island offers a range of accommodations from lively party towns to quiet fishing villages.
Matt Hazelwood, chief commercial officer at AGS Airports, welcomed the announcement, noting increased demand for Greek travel from West Scotland. The new route aims to provide more choice for holidaymakers seeking a Greek escape.
