Woman Meets Hinge Match for First Date in Greece Four Days Later
Hinge Match's First Date in Greece Just Days After Matching

Saffron Vieira, 22, from Brighton, East Sussex, met Ross Norminton, 27, for the first time on the way to the airport just four days after matching on the dating app Hinge. Their first date was a holiday in Greece, and the couple have since extended their trip, booked another holiday to Thailand, and are planning to move in together.

From Match to Airport in Four Days

Saffron downloaded Hinge after her six-year relationship ended in January. She connected with Ross, a business owner who had been using Hinge for just a week, on Tuesday, June 16. Ross complimented Saffron's tan and jokingly suggested they go on holiday so he could compete with her. Saffron agreed, and Ross booked a last-minute trip to Greece that same evening.

On Saturday, June 20, Saffron met Ross for the first time when he picked her up from her home to drive to London Gatwick Airport. He brought flowers, a Jellycat toy, and her favorite drink. Saffron said: 'He said hello to my family just to make sure I wasn't getting kidnapped. My mum at first did think it was slightly insane but they've all since given the approval.'

Whirlwind Romance in Rhodes

Since arriving in Rhodes, the pair have extended their original week-long trip to visit another Greek island. Saffron said: 'It wasn't weird at all. It feels like we already know each other. We've been having a great time, we don't actually want to go home.' Ross added: 'I wasn't exactly sure she would accept it to be honest, and when she did I thought okay let's go. There wasn't any part of me that thought this could go wrong.'

The couple have already booked a holiday to Thailand in January and plan to travel around together. Ross said: 'I can definitely see it working back home. I'm going to get her a key cut for my house. I think we're both on the same page. We're not actually rushing it, we're both just open to it.' Saffron responded: 'I'm open-minded [about moving in] to be fair. I just think "has he got room for my wardrobe?"'

Spontaneity and Future Plans

Saffron, a carer and nursery worker, said of the spontaneous trip: 'I'm quite spontaneous so this isn't really past me.' Ross echoed the sentiment, saying: 'We're very similar in a lot of ways. I don't feel like I've just met her.' The couple are confident their whirlwind romance will continue back in the UK, with plans to move in together and explore more destinations.
