Guest Finds Stranger Hiding Under Hotel Bed

A woman on holiday in Tokyo has described the terrifying moment she discovered a stranger hiding under her hotel bed. The incident occurred in March when the woman, a Thai national, returned to her hotel room after dinner.

After about 20 minutes in her room, she noticed a strange odour, which she likened to a dead animal covered in sugar. When she checked under the bed, she saw two dark eyes staring back at her. The man, described as east Asian, aged 20-30, slightly overweight with a bowl haircut, climbed out and blocked her path to the door.

The woman screamed for help, and the man also began screaming before fleeing the room. Police later found a USB cable and power bank under the bed, suggesting he may have planned to secretly record her. Despite reporting the incident, the woman claims police treated the matter casually and said they were unlikely to find the suspect due to a lack of hotel cameras.

The woman, who now suffers from anxiety and PTSD, has spoken out to raise awareness. She says many women have shared similar experiences, but some men have blamed her or accused her of denigrating Japan. She continues to seek justice and hopes her story will prevent similar incidents.
