A travel influencer has revealed a clever hack that significantly reduces time spent in airport security queues, particularly at London Heathrow. Raimee, known as @raimeetravels on TikTok, shared the tip with her 245,000 followers, explaining how passengers can book a slot to bypass long lines.
In her video, Raimee highlighted Heathrow's 'Timeslot' service, which allows travellers to schedule a specific time to go through security. She said: 'So you can avoid the crazy long security line... This is the coolest thing I've seen any airport do.' The service is free and can be booked two to three days before departure.
Raimee, who is from the US, described her experience using the system: 'I got through Heathrow security in less than five minutes - and that has never happened to me at an international airport.' She noted that signs throughout the airport guide passengers to the designated area, where they present a QR code and proceed with the usual security checks.
The TikTok post has garnered over 55,000 likes, with many commenters expressing gratitude for the tip. However, some users pointed out that the service is currently only available at Terminal 3 and for selected flights. Others mentioned similar schemes at Amsterdam Schiphol and Berlin Airport, where it is called 'Runway'.
