Located in the M90 5AZ postcode, Manchester Airport has a dedicated area for free drop-offs. This zone is situated in JetParks 1, which is a bit further from the terminals, but a free shuttle bus operates daily to take passengers to their departure gates. The journey takes just a few minutes.
Airport officials state: "All passengers can use our free Drop Off area, located in JetParks 1." They add: "A free shuttle bus will take passengers to their terminal, with journeys taking around 6 minutes. The shuttle bus service runs 24/7, with marshals on hand to assist."
This free drop-off zone is an excellent option for saving money. It allows friends and family to drop you off without paying for parking or risking fines, making travel more affordable.
How to Get to the Free Drop-Off Area
To reach the free drop-off area, follow these directions:
- Exit the M56 at Junction 5 onto the Airport Spur Road.
- Keep left and take the first exit – signposted Terminal 2.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Enterprise Way, signposted JP1.
- Turn left at the lights at Etrop (onto Thorley Lane) past the Etrop Grange Hotel (on your right).
- The entrance to JetParks 1 is the first left.
Note that the free shuttle bus only runs one way, from the car park to the terminal.
What is JetParks?
JetParks at Manchester Airport is a budget-friendly parking option. While the car parks are a bit further from the terminals, regular free shuttle buses take you to the departure terminal in just a few minutes. This parking offers flexible options, including free cancellation up to 72 hours before arrival. You can also cancel up to 1 hour before arrival with Upgraded Cancellation Protection.
Entry to JetParks is via Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), so no tickets are needed. Drive straight in, park up, and head directly to check-in.
