A 90-minute boat trip on the Firth of Forth, which includes a fish and chip supper for £30, has been hailed as "great value" by passengers. The Fish 'n' Chips Cruise, run by Forth Boat Tours, departs from Hawes Pier in South Queensferry at 6:45pm on Friday nights and takes in views of the Three Bridges and Scottish wildlife.
What the cruise offers
The excursion is described as "one of the best ways to spend an evening at the end of a long week". Passengers can enjoy a hot chippy while cruising along the Firth of Forth, with views of the Edinburgh skyline, Inchcolm Island and marine wildlife including seals, puffins and potentially dolphins.
Bookings are advanced only, and spaces for the weekly trip sell out quickly. Those interested may need to join a waiting list in hopes of a space becoming available.
Passenger reactions
TikTok user Paris Louise recently took part in the trip and called it a "brilliant experience". Although she initially thought the price was a bit expensive, she later said it was "100 per cent worth it". In a video, she praised the "massive" portion of fish and chips sourced from a local chippy, and filmed the sunset, the bridges and seals spotted during the cruise.
Comments on the post included: "Fish supper at my chippy is £14.50 so for £30 I'd say it's a good little gift idea," and "That looks lovely and £30 is a fair price as a chippy isn't exactly cheap anyway!" Another wrote: "I was expecting the price to be £100," while one added: "Sounds like a great day out, the price is reasonable especially with a lovely fish supper."
