When his partner Roxy Mitchell welcomed baby Amy in 2008, Sean believed he was the father. It was later that he discovered he was not her dad, after finding a DNA test result letter in his Christmas cracker. The letter only revealed that Sean was not a DNA match for Amy, and he was subsequently told that Jack Branning was the father following a fling.
Fans Predict a Retcon
Sean's return and his constant mentions of Amy being like a daughter have left fans wondering if another soap retcon is on the way. Viewers are predicting that it will turn out that Roxy's dad Archie Mitchell faked the results, and Sean was Amy's dad all along.
This is unlikely, and Jack is Amy's dad. But some fans wonder if the show might retcon it anyway, while other viewers confessed they wished Sean had been Amy's dad from the start.
