EasyJet has launched new flights from Manchester to Montpellier, a charming Mediterranean city in southern France that enjoys an impressive 300 days of sunshine annually. One-way tickets start from just £28.99, and the flight takes a little over two hours.
Why Visit Montpellier?
Often overlooked in favour of tourist hotspots like Paris, Montpellier offers a scenic escape with a laid-back atmosphere. Its medieval architecture, bustling squares, and delightful cafés provide a perfect backdrop for a relaxing holiday. The city is one of France's sunniest locations, with summer daylight extending to around 10 hours. Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, winters are mild, summers are hot and dry, and rainfall is rare. Temperatures reach around 17°C in May and 22°C in June.
New EasyJet Route
EasyJet began operating the new route from Manchester Airport to Montpellier in April. Services run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays throughout the summer. Visitors can explore the historic city centre, including the stunning Place de la Comédie, the Promenade du Peyrou, and the Gothic Saint-Pierre Cathedral. The pedestrian-friendly Old Town features winding medieval streets, chic boutiques, and lively squares filled with cafés and restaurants. The Jardin des Plantes, France's oldest botanical garden, offers a tranquil escape with an impressive collection of plants. The Peyrou Promenade provides panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.
