EasyJet Launches New Flights from Manchester to Sunny Montpellier

EasyJet has launched new flights from Manchester Airport to Montpellier, a Mediterranean city in southern France known for its 300 days of sunshine annually. The inaugural flights took off this week, with services operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays throughout the summer season.

Montpellier offers a relaxed atmosphere with medieval architecture, lively squares, and charming cafés. Its Mediterranean climate features mild winters and hot, dry summers, with temperatures reaching 18-21°C in April. The city is often overlooked in favour of Paris but boasts attractions such as the Place de la Comédie, Promenade du Peyrou, and the Gothic Saint-Pierre Cathedral.

Visitors can explore the pedestrian-friendly Old Town with narrow streets, boutiques, and bustling squares. The Jardin des Plantes, France's oldest botanical garden, provides a peaceful retreat, while the Peyrou Promenade offers panoramic views of the city and countryside.

Tickets are available from £26.99, with a flight time of just over two hours. Kevin Doyle, easyJet's UK country manager, said: 'We are really pleased to be celebrating our inaugural flights to the fantastic city of Montpellier, just a stone's throw from the Mediterranean coast.' Stephen Turner, chief commercial officer at Manchester Airport, added: 'Montpellier is not currently served by any other airline so passengers planning a holiday to the south of France this summer will have even more choice of destinations when flying from Manchester.'
