Disney reveals heroes and villains theme for new £1.1bn cruise ship

Disney has unveiled the designs and features of its latest cruise ship, Disney Destiny, which will launch in November 2025 with a heroes and villains theme. The seventh vessel in the Disney cruise fleet, it is a sister ship to Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, and will carry up to 4,000 passengers.

Marvel characters Spider-Man and Black Panther will feature prominently. A large sculpture of Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots will decorate the ship's stern, while a Black Panther statue will be the centrepiece of the Grand Hall. The hall will also use 360-degree lighting effects to match characters' auras.

Accommodation ranges from standard cabins with artwork from stories like Mulan and Hercules to themed suites. The Hercules-themed Hero Suites and The Incredibles-inspired IncrediSuites are among four royal suites, while the 2,000 sq ft Destiny Tower Suite has an Iron Man theme. Seven bridge-adjacent oceanview rooms will feature Pixar's The Incredibles.

Guests can meet Mickey Mouse and villains such as Hades and Captain Hook, as well as interact with Cruella de Vil and Loki through themed activities. The ship, costing about $1.1 billion (£822 million), will sail its maiden voyage from Port Everglades, Florida, on 20 November 2025.
