Center Parcs Unveils Major £87 Million Resort Revamp in Ireland

Center Parcs has announced a significant £87 million investment to transform its Longford Forest site in Ireland, marking one of its most ambitious upgrades to date. The extensive makeover will introduce new accommodation options, thrilling attractions, and dining facilities, aiming to elevate the guest experience at the popular holiday destination.

New Lodges and Treehouse Accommodation

The renovation plans include the addition of 83 new lodges, with bookings already available for stays between December 2026 and April 2027. These lodges feature six-bedroom woodland designs tailored for larger groups, adapted options for accessibility, and increased dog-friendly units for visitors bringing their pets.

In a notable shift, Center Parcs has rebranded some of its accommodation categories: the Executive Lodge is now called a Forest Lodge, and the Executive Plus Lodge has been renamed the Grand Forest Lodge.

Treehouse accommodation, a highlight of the upgrade, will be introduced to Longford Forest, mirroring offerings at other Center Parcs locations. These two-storey structures are accessed via elevated walkways through the trees and often include luxury amenities such as hot tubs, saunas, and dedicated gaming areas for children.

Exciting New Attractions and Dining

Beyond lodging, the resort will debut the Forest Glider, a new aerial zipline ride described as a continuous-loop, gravity-fed attraction. Scheduled to open in autumn, it will complement existing facilities like adventure golf and the Aquaparc on the lake.

Longford Forest has already enhanced its entertainment offerings with two escape rooms launched in December 2025: The Plant Room and Forest Laboratory, both featuring interactive and immersive activities for families.

A new lakeside restaurant is also in the works, announced in August 2025, adding to the dining options available at the site.

Background and Existing Features

Longford Forest, Center Parcs' first Irish location, opened in 2019 and has welcomed over one million guests. The resort is centred around a large man-made lake, popular for watersports such as canoeing and kayaking.

It boasts the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, Ireland's largest waterpark, heated to 29.5°C year-round. Guests enjoy free, unlimited access without booking slots, featuring attractions like Wild Water Rapids, a lazy river, the 100-metre Tropical Cyclone raft ride, flumes for children, and a relaxing whirlpool.

This investment follows Center Parcs' recent announcement of a new £350 million site near Hawick, Scotland, potentially opening by the end of 2029, indicating the company's ongoing expansion and commitment to enhancing its holiday offerings across the UK and Ireland.
