Butlin's has long been a staple of British family holidays, but their newest offering – the Skypark accommodation – promises a more luxurious experience. I decided to put it to the test.
A New Era for Butlin's?
Gone are the days of basic chalets. The Skypark lodges boast modern interiors, premium amenities, and stunning sea views. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn't the Butlin's of old.
The Accommodation
Our two-bedroom lodge featured:
- Spacious open-plan living area
- Fully equipped kitchen with premium appliances
- Luxurious bathrooms with rainfall showers
- Private balcony with panoramic views
The Resort Experience
While the accommodation has been upgraded, the classic Butlin's entertainment remains. We enjoyed:
- World-class live shows
- The brand-new Splash Waterworld
- Multiple dining options, including premium restaurants
- Excellent kids' clubs and activities
Is It Worth the Upgrade?
The Skypark accommodation comes at a premium price, but for families wanting extra comfort without sacrificing the Butlin's experience, it's a game-changer. The attention to detail and quality finishes make it feel more like a boutique hotel than a traditional holiday camp.
That said, traditionalists might argue part of Butlin's charm was its simplicity. The new luxury option certainly changes the dynamic, but in our experience, it's a welcome evolution.
