British Tourists in Tenerife Book Early Flights Home After Storm Disrupts Holidays

British holidaymakers in Tenerife have been forced to cut their trips short after an unexpected storm brought heavy rain and strong winds to the Canary Islands. Videos on TikTok show frustrated tourists describing their holidays as 'ruined' due to the relentless downpour.

One user, known online as Gazza, posted a video stating: 'Come here every year and this is the first bad downpour experience.' He described the weather as 'brutal' for four days. The clip has sparked hundreds of responses from others who faced similar conditions.

Storm Therese, one of the most devastating storms to hit the archipelago in over a decade, brought 62 mph winds and even snowfall at high altitudes. Some tourists admitted to booking early flights home, with one commenting: 'I was there last week and got an early flight home.'

However, not all visitors were put off. Some reported having a wonderful time, with one saying: 'It's heaven. Chill.' Another added: 'Here at the moment and not that bad. People need to chill out.' Forecasts now predict sunny spells and temperatures up to 26°C, offering a silver lining for those still on the island.
