A 28-year-old man from Barry, south Wales, has died following a motorcycle accident while on holiday in Thailand. Corey Beavis suffered fatal injuries on Saturday, January 4, just days into the new year.
His family described him as a 'genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him.' They said in a statement: 'On Saturday we received the devastating news our beautiful boy lost his life following a motorcycle accident. Corey lit up any room he walked into with his larger than life character and his infectious laugh.'
Corey's twin brother, Liam, told the BBC: 'Corey lived his life to the fullest. I will struggle to find a way to deal with this pain for the rest of my life, but I promise I will make you really proud.'
The family is facing unexpected repatriation and funeral costs as Corey did not have travel insurance. A GoFundMe page set up by loved ones has raised nearly £13,000 within a day. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is assisting and liaising with Thai authorities.
