Bake Off star Grete Butkute to host Champagne tea in Glasgow

Channel 4 Bake Off: The Professionals chef Grete Butkute is bringing a one-off Champagne afternoon tea experience to Cuvée in Glasgow's Princes Square on the afternoon of Sunday November 22.

Priced at £60 per ticket, the three-hour event will feature Grete's specially crafted afternoon tea menu paired with Veuve Clicquot Champagne and live music.

A career built in top kitchens

Grete appeared alongside her sister Goda on the 2026 series of Channel 4's Bake Off: The Professionals. Her career spans Scotland's Gleneagles Hotel, Cakes & Bubbles at London's Hotel Café Royal, and Heart Ibiza, where she worked under Spanish chef Albert Adrià, once crowned The World's Best Pastry Chef.

The sisters also run Scotiq, a luxury private dining and catering business established by Grete in 2022, which blends fine dining expertise with Scottish produce, inventive presentation and contemporary patisserie.

An afternoon under the Christmas tree

Set within the Cuvée courtyard at Princes Square, the experience will take place beneath the centre's renowned Christmas tree, which stands in the courtyard each festive season. It launches just as Glasgow gears up for the Christmas shopping period.

Attendees will be greeted with a glass of Veuve Clicquot before savouring a selection of sweet and savoury dishes, accompanied by a second glass of Champagne, while live music plays throughout the afternoon.

John Molloy, Director of Food at The Superlative Collection, said: "Grete is a hugely talented chef and someone who's really well respected across the industry.

"To have worked alongside Albert Adrià, once named the World's Best Pastry Chef, tells you everything about the level she operates at, and you can see that precision and creativity in everything she makes. We're delighted to be bringing that to Cuvée with Grete and Scotiq."

Tickets and timings

The Champagne Afternoon Tea Experience runs from 12pm until 3pm on Sunday 22nd November. Tickets, priced at £60 per person, include afternoon tea, two glasses of Veuve Clicquot and live music, and can be purchased through Skiddle.
