Andy Murray's Luxury Scottish Hotel Unveils Major Renovation Plans
Andy Murray's Scottish Hotel Gets Major Renovation

Renovation plans have been unveiled for Andy Murray's luxury Scottish hotel, Cromlix House, marking a significant investment in the property's future. The project includes the addition of two new restaurants, three new suites, and a dedicated wellness cottage, alongside improvements to visitor access and infrastructure.

Expanding Culinary and Accommodation Offerings

The tennis champion and his wife, Kim, are overseeing the construction of two distinct restaurants on the estate. The main hotel restaurant will feature a glass-fronted design with a state-of-the-art kitchen, seating up to sixty guests. It will overlook the estate's gardens, with menus highlighting locally sourced produce, much of it grown in the hotel's own kitchen garden.

A second, more intimate restaurant is also being built, intended for fine dining experiences. The hotel's current restaurant, The Glasshouse, will be repurposed into a dedicated space for afternoon tea and events, addressing previous aesthetic shortcomings noted by Kim Murray.

Enhancing Accessibility and Wellness

Applications submitted to the local council reveal plans to improve visitor access by relocating existing gate pillars to widen the entrance. This change aims to facilitate better routes for buses and larger vehicles, reducing potential risks of collision or damage to the listed structures.

In addition to the culinary expansions, three new suites and a wellness cottage will be added to the hotel's offerings, further elevating its five-star status. The hotel will be closed for the first half of the year to accommodate these extensive renovations, with a scheduled reopening on 15 May 2026.

A History of Transformation

Andy and Kim Murray purchased the £1.8 million Cromlix House over twelve years ago, transforming the former Victorian mansion into a luxury hotel near Dunblane, Stirlingshire. The property underwent a full makeover in 2023 after the Murrays took back management, including overhauls of bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.

Kim Murray expressed excitement about this next phase, highlighting the hotel's ongoing commitment to excellence and guest experience. The renovations reflect a continued investment in the local area and the hospitality sector, building on the hotel's reputation as a premier destination in Scotland.
