Alton Towers Resort is preparing to welcome guests to the world's inaugural Hey Duggee-themed hotel accommodations this spring, marking a significant expansion of its family-oriented offerings. Starting from March 14, 2026, enthusiasts of the beloved CBeebies preschool series can overnight in the specially designed "Duggee Clubhouse" rooms, which are themed around the animated show featuring Duggee the dog and his Squirrel Club.
Immersive Family Experience
The new Hey Duggee room is configured to accommodate up to two adults and three children, featuring a double bed alongside a vibrant children's area. This space includes sensory games and bunk beds, all crafted to animate the cherished character for families. Alton Towers emphasized that this initiative aims to bring Duggee to life beyond the screen, enhancing the resort's commitment to creating memorable and engaging experiences for visitors.
Integration with Existing Attractions
This themed addition joins a roster of other character-based rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel, such as those inspired by Bluey and In the Night Garden. Moreover, the theme park already hosts a Hey Duggee sensory play area within CBeebies Land, where children have the opportunity to meet Duggee in person, further enriching the immersive environment.
Executive Insights
Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, "What better way for fans to relax and continue the adventures after a fun-filled day at CBeebies Land than with a stay in our world-first Hey Duggee themed rooms. We have an exciting year ahead in 2026 at Alton Towers Resort for families, and this themed addition to CBeebies Land Hotel is the latest example of our commitment to unforgettable memories and immersive experiences for families."
Natasha Spence, Events Director of Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, added, "These world-first Hey Duggee themed hotel rooms bring the Duggee Clubhouse to life in a truly immersive way. It's a wonderful extension of the show that allows fans and families to continue the fun, imagination, and adventure beyond the screen, and we're delighted to be working with Alton Towers Resort again to create something so special."
Broader Theme Park Trends
The introduction of Hey Duggee-themed rooms aligns with a wider trend in the UK theme park industry, where immersive, character-based attractions are gaining prominence. Notably, Chessington World of Adventures is set to open a new £15 million Paw Patrol-themed land this spring. This 1.4-acre immersive area will feature a lookout tower and four rides, each themed around different members of the Paw Patrol pack, including Chase's Mountain Mission rollercoaster, Skye's Helicopter Heroes, Zuma's Hovercraft drifter ride, and Marshall's Firetruck Rescue through Adventure Bay.
These developments underscore a growing emphasis on creating detailed, interactive environments that extend popular children's franchises into real-world experiences, catering to families seeking unique and engaging entertainment options.
