The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued urgent recall notices for several popular products sold in the UK, urging customers to stop using them immediately. Among the affected items are an Ikea garlic press, a Build-A-Bear teddy bear and a wireless baby monitor.
Build-A-Bear has recalled its Heartwarming Hugs Bear 2 with Zipper Closure over a choking risk. The brown weighted plush bear, sold between 21 January and 6 March, has a zipped pouch containing a heart filled with ceramic beads that can be heated or cooled. The OPSS said the zipper can detach, creating a small part. Customers are advised to stop using the bear and contact Build-A-Bear for a refund.
Ikea has recalled its 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press in black due to a manufacturing defect that may cause small metal fragments to break off into food. The affected presses, with article number 601.636.02 and date stamps from 2411 to 2522, were sold worldwide. Customers are urged to stop using them and return the product for a full refund.
The Babysense Max View Wireless Digital Video Baby Monitor has been recalled because the parent unit battery may overheat during charging, posing a fire risk. Only serial numbers beginning with 'MVRX' are affected. Hisense, the manufacturer, is offering replacement parent units; affected customers should visit the recall website.
