Tom Holland Demanded Changes to Spider-Man 4 Filming

Tom Holland appears to have been calling the shots on set for the forthcoming Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day, according to his recent comments. The 30-year-old actor, who portrays Peter Parker, revealed to GQ that he had a “very uncomfortable conversation” with Sony regarding the filming schedule for the sequel. The reason? He wanted to star in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, where he will play Telemachus.

Holland's Influence on Production

Holland went as far as to claim that the scheduling change “saved” the film by granting director Destin Daniel Cretton additional time to further develop the script. Inspired by Nolan's meticulous approach to filmmaking, Holland said he demanded alterations to how Spider-Man's sequel was produced.

“It was just really great to constantly be calling up the studio and... be like, ‘Well, Chris is doing it this way. This is how I think we should be doing it,’” Holland explained.
