Ryanair and easyJet Mobile Boarding Pass Rules: Key Info

Passengers flying with budget airlines Ryanair and easyJet are being reminded to review mobile boarding pass requirements before heading to the airport, as some airports do not accept them and one carrier has gone entirely paperless.

easyJet Mobile Boarding Pass Rules

easyJet encourages travellers to use mobile boarding passes, which store travel information securely and reduce paper waste. Passengers can save passes to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for offline access.

However, the airline states: "The majority of our airports accept mobile boarding passes, however, the airports listed below do not currently accept mobile boarding passes." The list includes:

Ryanair's Fully Digital Approach

Ryanair has moved to 100% Digital Boarding Passes (DBP) since November 2025. Passengers check in online via the Ryanair website or app, and the DBP appears automatically in the app. According to the airline, this shift "lowers airport costs and fares for all Ryanair passengers, provides a better service, improves customer service during disruptions, and is better for the environment, eliminating 300 tonnes of paper annually."

If a device is lost or has no battery, passengers can get a complimentary boarding pass at the airport. Those without a smartphone can also receive a free paper pass if they checked in online; otherwise, an airport check-in fee applies.

Passengers are advised to check the respective airline websites for the most up-to-date information before travelling.
