Microsoft Outlook Still Down After 24 Hours: Simple Fix for iOS Users

Microsoft Outlook remains inaccessible for many users after nearly 24 hours of disruption, with fresh complaints continuing to surface on Monday and Tuesday. The outage, which began on Monday 27 April, has left millions unable to send or receive emails, sparking frustration across social media.

Microsoft has confirmed that it identified and fixed the root cause of the issue, stating that “system telemetry indicates that the service remains healthy.” However, reports on Down Detector indicate that problems persist, particularly among iOS users.

For those using iPhones, Microsoft has advised a simple remedy: manually signing back into accounts. The company said, “iOS users must take additional steps to re-enter their password to successfully access Outlook accounts.” Users should open the Mail app and check that their account is syncing properly and that emails can be sent and received.

Despite the fix, many customers remain unhappy. One user named James wrote, “Why is Outlook STILL down? I have some very important emails… Please get it together. This is ridiculous now — 24 hours and still getting nothing.” Another user, Lydia, added, “Are you still down? This is crazy!”
