A new leak from Hong Kong-based retailer Playasia suggests the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2 will cost approximately £58.58 including VAT, pointing to a likely UK price of £60.
Retail Listing Reveals Pricing Details
Playasia, a well-known video game retailer, listed the physical version of the Ocarina of Time remake on its website for customers in Japan at £58.58. The listing includes the ability to add the game to a cart and was promoted in a blog post, lending credibility to the leaked price. However, Nintendo has not officially confirmed the cost.
The price is notably lower than other Switch 2 launch titles. For comparison, Mario Kart World launched at £74.99 for physical copies, while Donkey Kong Bananza was priced at £66.99 in July 2025. This has led fans to speculate about the scope of the remake.
Fan Reactions and Speculation
Fans on Reddit have debated what the pricing means for the game's scale. One user commented: "That makes me think it will be a faithful remake and not a partial reimagining of the game like some people were talking about." Another agreed, comparing it to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake: "If this is the case I think it would be closer to something like Link’s Awakening where it’s mostly the same but with quality of life and some new content here and there. Or like Star Fox where the gameplay is intact with some smoothing out but the story is fleshed out more."
A third fan added: "We don’t know if this is true of course but I highly doubt Nintendo would ever sell a complete reimagining for less than $70 (£52.51)." The reference to Star Fox (known as Lylat Wars in the UK) suggests fans expect a polished retelling rather than a ground-up rebuild like Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Official Announcement Context
The Ocarina of Time remake was officially confirmed during a Nintendo Direct last month, with a launch window later this year. Nintendo released only a brief teaser showing a new artistic direction for Link and his adventure. The leaked price provides the first concrete hint at the game's positioning in Nintendo's lineup.
