The National Lottery is launching a new draw-based game, UK Powerball, from Tuesday, July 21, offering players the chance to win unlimited jackpots that roll over until someone wins. The game, a version of the US Powerball, marks the first new draw-based game in the National Lottery's history.
How the Game Works
Tickets cost £4 per line and must be purchased by 11:55 pm the night before a draw. Draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at around 4 am UK time. Players compete with US participants for the world's biggest jackpot.
The jackpot starts at approximately £12 million, paid out over 30 years. If no one wins, it rolls over and could reportedly reach as high as £1 billion. Matching five numbers wins £1 million, with smaller prizes including £8 for matching two numbers.

Recent Changes to Lotto
This launch follows a major change to the bi-weekly Lotto draws, where players now get two chances to win for every £2 ticket, with two rounds of balls drawn every Wednesday and Saturday.
How to Play
From July 21, tickets can be purchased online via the National Lottery website or app, and in-store. Players must buy tickets by 11:55 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for the following day's draw. The jackpot is unlimited and can keep rolling over until someone wins; winners receive their prize over 30 years rather than a lump sum.
