Liverpool Transfer News: Barcola, Diomande, Mora

Liverpool have made an enquiry for Mexico wonderkid Gilberto Mora, while the futures of Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola remain uncertain. The Reds have already completed deals for Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet this summer.

Gilberto Mora Enquiry Confirmed

According to Mexican outlet El Universal, Liverpool have 'opened lines of communication' with Liga MX side Tijuana regarding 17-year-old midfielder Gilberto Mora. The teenager impressed at the World Cup before Mexico's elimination by England. No offer has been made yet, and Mora cannot move abroad until he turns 18 in October. His contract runs until 2029, and he is valued at around £34m.

Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande Updates

Liverpool face competition from Arsenal for PSG winger Bradley Barcola. However, The Athletic reports that Arsenal have made Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers their top priority, potentially clearing the path for Liverpool. PSG reportedly want over £100m for Barcola. Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly advised Barcola to stay at PSG, saying: 'Barcola doesn't need to leave PSG. He's too young. Didier Deschamps is teaching him a lesson.'

Meanwhile, Yan Diomande has been advised by former Liverpool star Joe Cole to choose Anfield over PSG. Cole said: 'There's a lot of top-level wingers in world football right now, but Diomande is as good as I've seen; he's so explosive. My advice to him as a young player is, don't bother going to PSG. Go to Liverpool because if they want you and there's a hole in the team to play, then they really need you.' Diomande is reportedly valued at over £100m, with Liverpool willing to pay around £86m.

New Signings and Departures

Liverpool have completed two major signings: Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34.5m and Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60m. Munoz detailed how manager Andoni Iraola convinced him to join, saying: 'His style of play, his pressing, how he wants to manage teams... I made the right choice with that next step because those are characteristics I really identify with.'

On the departure front, Curtis Jones is a 'top target' for Inter Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Inter's initial offer of around £22m fell short of Liverpool's £35m valuation. Jones has entered the last year of his contract and is said to desire a move to Milan.

Other Transfer Rumours

Liverpool have been linked with RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, but face competition from Tottenham. The Reds are also reportedly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, though he wants to stay at Los Blancos. A £100m price tag has been placed on Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi by president Olivier Letang, who cited Elliot Anderson's £116m move as a benchmark.

Liverpool have also snapped up Celtic prospect Dara Jikiemi on a five-year deal, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 16-year-old centre-back captains Scotland U16s.

Contract and Future Updates

Mohamed Salah remains a free agent after his Liverpool contract expired. Roma and Juventus are interested, but financial constraints may prevent a deal. Salah is not expected to make a decision until after the World Cup.

Virgil van Dijk has been linked with AC Milan, but sources have robustly dismissed those claims, with the Reds planning to keep him for the season ahead.

Liverpool legend John Barnes has urged Cody Gakpo to stay at Anfield, dismissing exit rumours.
