Jet2 Launches 72-Hour Live Flight Updates in New App Feature
Jet2 Introduces 72-Hour Rule for Smoother Holidays

Jet2 has introduced a new 72-hour rule for passengers, enabling them to view live flight times, statuses, and updates through its mobile app starting 72 hours before departure. The feature, launched on Monday, June 22, aims to streamline travel by providing accurate and timely information at customers' fingertips.

New App Functionality Details

The update allows customers to access key flight details three days ahead, including live flight times and statuses. Additionally, passengers can view details about their Jet2 in-resort Customer Helper, including visit times, locations, and the helper's name, offering convenient on-the-go access during their holiday.

This follows Jet2's 'Live Transfer Status' feature launched last year, which lets customers track coach transfers to the departure airport in real time. That service is currently available for returns from the Balearics, Canaries, Mainland Spain, Morocco, Turkey, and Bulgaria, with expansion to Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Faro, and Madeira planned for summer.

Commitment to Customer Experience

David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, stated: 'We are always looking at how we can continually improve the experience for our customers and digital innovation is a critical part of that. We are very pleased to be launching this new app functionality, which makes travelling with Jet2 even easier and more convenient. By putting more real-time information in our customer’s hands, we are improving our industry-leading customer experience even further.'

Hills added that the investment reflects Jet2's dedication to evolving its app and digital offerings based on customer feedback.

Price Pledge Amid Economic Uncertainty

Last month, Jet2 became the first UK airline and tour operator to confirm it will not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays to cover cost increases, such as jet fuel, resulting from the Iran War. The airline removed the surcharge provision across all bookings, assuring customers that the price they book is the price they pay.

This policy applies to all Jet2 flights and holidays booked online, via the app, contact centre, or independent travel agents. However, it does not cover tourist taxes, which are payable directly to accommodation providers in resort.
