Christian Horner is set to make his first Formula 1 paddock appearance in a year at the British Grand Prix on Sunday, according to Express Sport sources at Silverstone.
The 52-year-old was relieved of his Red Bull duties just two days after the British Grand Prix last July and has largely stayed out of the public eye since. However, he has been working behind the scenes on potential deals to return to the sport.
Book announcement and return to the paddock
Horner's return coincides with the announcement of his memoir, 'DRIVE', set for release in October. The book will cover his 20-year tenure at Red Bull, including his many rivalries and controversies.
In a statement, Horner said: "F1 is ultimately a people business. While the sport is often defined by the cars, the victories and the championships, what stays with me most are the people, the decisions, the challenges and the extraordinary cast of characters I encountered along the way."
Potential F1 return through new team
Horner has been linked with a bid to buy a 24% stake in the Alpine team, but talks have cooled. He is now reportedly focusing on a project with Chinese carmaker BYD to form a 12th F1 team, having been seen with BYD executive vice president Stella Li at recent events.
