Samsung has announced the Galaxy A27 5G, a budget-friendly smartphone starting at £319 that includes features even the flagship Galaxy S26 cannot match, such as expandable storage via an SD card. The device is set to launch on July 3 in select markets, available in Black, Blue, and Light Pink.

The Galaxy A27 5G boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth scrolling and vibrant visuals. Despite its lower price point—less than half the cost of the Galaxy S26—the phone includes up to 256GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD, a capability absent from the S26 series.

Design and Performance

The phone features a slimline water-resistant design at just 7.8mm thick. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, ensuring reliable performance for everyday tasks. A large 5,000mAh battery supports fast charging, and the device offers full 5G connectivity.

Camera and AI Capabilities

The rear houses a triple-lens camera system capable of ultra-wide and macro shots, alongside a 12MP front-facing camera for selfies. Software and Updates

The Galaxy A27 5G with 128GB storage is priced at £319, while the 256GB variant costs £379. Samsung stated in an email to Express.co.uk: "Samsung Electronics today announced Galaxy A27 5G, a device that refines everyday mobile use with an immersive display, reliable performance and thoughtfully integrated AI features." The device will be available starting July 3.
