EV Charging Firm Slashes Prices by 25% This Summer

Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has announced a 25% reduction in ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging prices across its entire EV Power network for the summer. From July 1 to September 30, drivers will pay just 59p per kWh, down from 79p, saving 20p per kWh. MFG states this could put up to £6 back in drivers' pockets on a typical charge.

Details of the Discount

The offer applies to all ultra-rapid chargers within the MFG EV Power network, which includes over 2,000 charging bays across 600 locations nationwide. The bays are installed at nearly 300 Morrisons supermarkets, as well as at Greggs, Pret A Manger, Burger King, Subway, and Costa outlets.

Charging speeds range from 150kW to 400kW, enabling drivers to add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The network supports both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors.

Industry Context

Martin Symes, EV Director of Motor Fuel Group, said: “This summer price drop is our commitment to British EV drivers: we are putting you first, cutting our ultra-rapid charging rate to just 59p/kWh so that your summer journeys are cheaper, greener, and hassle-free. With thousands of chargers across the UK and now one of the lowest rapid-charging prices in the country, there has never been a smarter time to go electric - now powered for less by MFG.”

The discount positions MFG among the cheapest ultra-rapid charging providers in the UK. The company is investing heavily in EV infrastructure, aiming to install over 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers by 2030.
