Lino's Restaurant, a family-run Mediterranean eatery on Market Street in Hoylake, has announced it will close after 43 years. Christmas Day 2026 will be its final day of service, ending more than four decades of welcoming customers in the coastal Wirral town.
A Family Legacy Since 1983
The restaurant first opened in 1983, founded by Lino and Barbara Galantini alongside their son Enrico. Over the years, it became a familiar fixture in Hoylake, drawing generations of customers for its Mediterranean cuisine.
Enrico worked alongside his parents for 15 years before taking over the business, and he has spent the past 30 years as head chef. The family tradition continued into another generation, with Enrico's son Emilio helping in the kitchen and his daughter Talia working front of house.
An Emotional Announcement
Sharing the news on social media, Enrico said: "After 43 wonderful years, the time has finally come to say goodbye. Christmas Day 2026 will see our final service."
He added: "It's hard to put all those years into words.. so many stories, memories made around our tables. To every customer, friend and members of our teams over all of those years who have helped us along our journey, a huge thank you. You made Lino's the place it has been - a part of Hoylake's community for all those years we will be forever grateful."
