Zizzi at the Trafford Centre has been forced to temporarily close after an issue with its extraction system. The restaurant, located in the Upper Orient area of the shopping centre, is expected to reopen on Saturday, August 29, according to a Trafford Centre spokesperson.
Signs outside the store this week informed customers that the restaurant was “not trading at the moment” due to “circumstances outside our normal service.” The signs apologised for the inconvenience and advised customers to check the Zizzi website, booking platform, or social media channels for the latest updates before visiting. Those with existing bookings were asked to contact the restaurant team or customer support for assistance.
Repair Work Underway
A Trafford Centre spokesperson confirmed the closure, stating: “Zizzi at Trafford Centre is temporarily closed due to an issue with its extraction system. Repair work is currently being carried out, and the restaurant will re-open its doors tomorrow (Saturday 29th August). We recommend checking directly with Zizzi for the latest updates before visiting.”
Zizzi has been a mainstay of the shopping centre for several years, offering Italian-inspired food including pizzas, pastas, and sharing plates. The chain first opened in 1999 in London’s Chiswick and now operates around 137 stores across the country, including sites at Piccadilly Gardens and the Corn Exchange in Manchester.
Recent Additions to the Centre
The closure comes amid a period of change at the Trafford Centre, which has recently welcomed new arrivals including Shake Shack, Forbici, Lululemon, and the £6m all-pink P.Louise City beauty megastore. The centre is also hosting a £2.50 summer fare event and a pop-up van from SpudBros, both popular with families during the school holidays.
Work to upgrade the centre’s main dome has also been completed, including the installation of new eco-friendly escalators aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The Odeon Cinema, also in the main dome, has announced its own upgrade is now complete.
