Boots has reduced a 50ml bottle of YSL Black Opium Over Red Eau De Parfum to £50 as part of its early Black Friday sale, cutting £57 off the standard £107 price point.

The retailer is offering the designer scent at "better than half" price during its early Black Friday event. Boots describes the fragrance as "captivating, unparalleled in provocation, deliberately seductive".
The perfume combines notes of black coffee, orange blossom, and vanilla from the original YSL Black Opium, with an added twist of cherry accord and jasmine.
Other retailers' Black Friday perfume deals
Other fragrance offers are available at other retailers this Black Friday. Superdrug launched its Black Friday promotions on November 4, featuring the Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet (50ml for £30, down from £77), while The Perfume Shop has its own reductions such as Gucci Bamboo (down from £95 to £39.99) or the Lady Million by Rabanne (80ml now £69.99 instead of £110).
Shopper reviews of the YSL fragrance
Hundreds of customers have praised the perfume on Boots' website, with many stating the YSL fragrance helped them garner "so many compliments". In the reviews, one said: "Amazing, luxurious and smells divine! This scent is my all-time favourite."
Another wrote: "I have fallen in love hard and fast with this perfume. I've always been a fan of the original YSL Black Opium and this takes the classic scent to a new level." Someone else said: "This scent is similar to the regular black opium but the cherry adds a fun twist. I get compliments on it all the time."
One more said: "This is a perfect perfume for winter." A fifth added: "I love this - especially for date night." One customer said: "I always get compliments whilst wearing it."
Not everyone was won over by YSL's interpretation of the classic Black Opium, however. One shopper posted online that the fragrance was "overpowering and instantly gave [them] a headache". Another said that they "can't smell it anymore after 10 minutes", while a third claimed: "This reminds me of a cough medicine. If you like this, you will probably love this perfume."
The vast majority of customers, though, were brimming with praise for the scent. One further five-star review said: "One of the best soft but elegant perfumes. It's like wearing velvet." Another said: "I absolutely love the way this smells. I have worn Opium for 30 years and when I tried the Red Opium, let's just say I have to have two bottles of this at all times!"
