West Ham Send Transfer Message to Man Utd and Tottenham Over Summerville
West Ham Send Summerville Transfer Message to Man Utd, Spurs

West Ham United have made it clear they will not rush the sale of Crysencio Summerville, despite their relegation to the Championship. The winger has attracted significant interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Summerville's Rising Stock

The Dutch international marked his World Cup debut with a goal during a thrilling 2-2 draw with Japan in Dallas, further enhancing his reputation. Since January, when Tottenham first considered a move for the former Leeds United winger, his value has soared. Now, several clubs are looking to capitalise on West Ham's situation, hoping to secure a cut-price deal.

However, West Ham sources insist that will not happen. The club is happy to wait until after the World Cup to negotiate any transfer. There is an acceptance that keeping the player this summer will be difficult, but they will not be forced into a sale. The same approach applies to fellow target Mateus Fernandes, who is also admired by Manchester United.

Contract Clauses and Interest

Both Summerville and Fernandes have had their wages reduced due to relegation clauses in their contracts, but both are still expected to move on. West Ham's largest shareholder, Daniel Kretinsky, has stated that the club does not need to sell its most prized assets. There remains a chance that captain Jarrod Bowen could stay and play in the Championship next season.

To open negotiations for Summerville, a bid in the region of £45 million would be required. Portuguese midfielder Fernandes is valued at around £80 million, with interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal. However, Arsenal have taken a backseat in recent weeks, leaving Manchester United in pole position, provided Real Madrid do not make a push.

Other Clubs in the Mix

Tottenham are in the market for a new winger for manager Roberto De Zerbi and are in unofficial talks with Manchester City over a move for Savinho. Liverpool are also seeking a left-sided forward and scouted Summerville back in 2024, though it remains to be seen if they will enter the race. Manchester United have other options on their radar, including Iliman Ndiaye and Morgan Rogers.

West Ham are determined to hold out for the best deal, ensuring they are not short-changed for their star player.
