Wales Supermarket Bank Holiday Opening Hours for Major Chains

Tesco and Co-op trading times

Tesco stores throughout Wales will be open from 8am to 6pm, instead of their usual midnight closing. Tesco Express branches will continue to trade from 6am to 10pm or 11pm on the bank holiday.

Co-op will keep to its usual hours of 7am to 10pm or 11pm over the August bank holiday, although this can differ from store to store.

Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's hours

A number of Asda stores across Wales will remain open around the clock, while others will trade from 8am to 10pm on Monday. Morrisons branches will be open between 7am and 8pm, reduced from their usual hours of 7am to 10pm. Morrisons petrol stations are anticipated to operate between 8am and 10pm.

Sainsbury's outlets throughout Wales will operate with curtailed hours of 8am to 8pm on bank holiday Monday, with smaller branches likely to run between 7am and 11pm.

Lidl, Aldi, M&S and Waitrose

The majority of Lidl outlets will be operating with shortened hours of 8am to 10pm. Most Aldi shops will be shutting earlier than usual, operating from 8am to 8pm.

Marks & Spencer's opening hours differ across the UK, typically opening around 8am or 8.30am and shutting earlier around 6pm or 7pm, though this varies from store to store. The handful of Waitrose outlets across Wales will have slightly curtailed opening hours of 8am to 6pm, while branches located at service stations and Little Waitrose shops throughout the UK will be open from 7am to 10pm.
