Design and Origins
The masks are designed to be worn for several hours or overnight, gradually turning transparent as they are worn, unlike traditional sheet masks that are removed after 15 minutes. This feature aligns with the social media trend of ‘morning shedding’, where people go to bed wearing heavy layers of skincare products and peel them off in the morning.
Biodance founder Mihwa Kim developed the mask after undergoing treatment for facial scarring following a car accident that required 60 stitches. She became interested in the hydrogel patches used to treat scarring and wanted to adapt this approach for skincare, leading to the creation of the brand’s flagship product.

The masks hold a 4.4 star rating based on more than 48,000 global reviews. One woman wrote: “Really lovely product. My skin was glass like when I removed this mask.
