Asda Urgently Recalls Crisps Over Undeclared Milk Allergen

Asda has issued an urgent recall for its ASDA Extra Special Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps due to a packaging error that could pose a serious risk to people with milk allergies. The 150g bags may contain Cheese and Onion Crisps instead, which include milk as an ingredient not declared on the label.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has been notified and an Allergy Alert has been issued. Customers who have bought the product are advised not to eat it and to return it to any Asda store for a full refund, even without a receipt.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents could experience a reaction if they consume the affected crisps. Asda has set up a customer relations line on 0800 952 0101 for further information.

This recall is part of a routine safety measure when a food product is found to be mislabelled or contains an undeclared allergen. The FSA urges customers to check their purchases and follow the recall advice.
