The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued multiple food and allergy alerts this month, urging consumers not to eat several products sold in UK supermarkets. Recalls have been triggered by labelling errors, undeclared allergens, incorrect use-by dates, and potential contamination with foreign objects or harmful bacteria.
Co-op is recalling its Irresistible Triple Cook Thick Cut Chunky Chips because they contain undeclared milk, posing a risk to those with milk allergies. The product was mistakenly packed with Dauphinoise potatoes. Customers can return the item to any Co-op store for a refund or replacement.
Farmfoods has recalled its Ritz Cheese Sandwich products sourced from Indonesia due to undeclared milk, soya, and wheat. This affects England and Wales only. Shoppers with relevant allergies should return the product for a full refund without a receipt.
Althams Fine Foods is recalling two chilled crumble products sold at Booths stores after they were labelled with incorrect use-by dates, making them unsafe. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to any Booths branch for a full refund.
Brioche Pasquier has recalled specific batches of Pitch Chocolate and Hazelnut Brioches due to possible pieces of plastic. Customers should not consume the product and contact the company via email or website.
Other recalls include Aptamil and Cow & Gate infant formula (potential cereulide toxin), Tanpopo Japanese Food sushi (incorrect use-by date), and Darna Tahini (undeclared peanuts). In all cases, consumers are advised not to eat the products and return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
