Uniqlo shoppers are rushing to buy a reduced packable parka, now priced at £24.90, down from £34, as rainy weather is forecast to persist in Liverpool for the next week. The lightweight jacket, available in a pale pink colourway, is designed for wet and muggy conditions.
Water-repellent features and design
The parka features a 'high-performance water-repellent finish' that repels light rain, allowing droplets to roll off easily. According to the product description, it is coated with a water-repellent agent so the effect lasts longer, though the finish is not permanent.
It comes with a handy storage pouch and a hood with a brim for extra coverage. The jacket also includes UV protection technology.
Shopper reviews and alternatives
In Uniqlo reviews, one shopper said: "Handy to fit into bag in case of showers. Well made. Looks good. No rain yet but forecast later so this will come in handy."
A second review read: "Elegant, discreet, goes with everything and can be worn anywhere. I really liked it." A third fan said: "Good item, true to size, I would buy it again in other colors." A fourth shopper added: "Super lightweight transitional jacket. Quality is top-notch as always and exactly as pictured."
However, some shoppers did not believe the jacket had the classic 'parka' look. One review read: "It doesn't really meet my expectations. It's not a "parka" but a very lightweight windbreaker. Luckily, the style makes up for it. But I still don't have a truly waterproof parka!"
For an active look, Regatta is selling its Women's Pack-It III Waterproof Jacket for £20 instead of £50, with a 'high breathability rating'. Next is also selling a Red Elements Waterproof Rain Jacket in a waterproof finish with a flattering bubble hem.
