UK all-inclusive in Blackpool vs Turkey: Price difference shocks YouTuber
UK all-inclusive in Blackpool vs Turkey shocks YouTuber

Travel YouTuber Ed Chapman compared all-inclusive holidays in Blackpool and Turkey, and was shocked by the price difference. He stayed at the three-star Claremont Hotel on Blackpool's North Shore promenade for £130 per night, while a five-night trip to Turkey including flights and luggage cost £510.

Cost comparison

Had he stayed at the Claremont for five nights, the total would have been £650, making it cheaper to visit both Turkey and Blackpool combined. Chapman said: "So it's cheaper to actually fly to Turkey and have an all-inclusive holiday than it is to fly there, which probably explains why you don't see many families. It's mainly older people, people with disabilities, where maybe travelling long distances is a bit trickier."

Food and accommodation

Chapman praised the breakfast at the Claremont, calling it "a decent enough full English" but noted the eggs could be improved. He said: "The stay has been pretty good. Not a huge variety of food, don't get me wrong. The room wasn't as big as the room in Turkey but the food quality was better, that was actually warm." He added that Turkey was cheaper and probably better overall, though the food in Blackpool was better and cleaner.

Chapman remarked he was "the youngest person there by at least 40 years," joking: "I stand out like a sore thumb. When I said it smelled like an old person's home, I know why now." The Claremont Hotel has a 4.1 rating on Tripadvisor based on 2,200 reviews.
