The Scottish transfer window closes in four days, and clubs are moving quickly to finalise deals. PSV midfielder Joel van den Berg is expected to travel to Glasgow for a medical ahead of a £3.4m move to Celtic, while Rangers are closing in on striker Kevin Kelsy in a £9m deal.
Celtic close in on Van den Berg and Devenny
The 19-year-old Netherlands U19 captain is keen to secure first-team football at Celtic after impressing for Jong PSV. He is set to sign a contract until 2030, with the club's separate pursuit of Crystal Palace's Justin Devenny valued at £6m.
Van den Berg's move is viewed as independent of the Devenny deal, which remains in progress.
Rangers seal Kelsy and plan exits
Kevin Kelsy has travelled to Europe to complete his £9m transfer to Rangers from Portland Timbers. The Venezuelan international will undergo a medical, and if successful, the deal—including add-ons—should be completed before Thursday's 5pm deadline.
Kelsy is the replacement for Youssef Chermiti, who was injured against Hibernian. Rangers manager Derek McInnes said: “In terms of ones in, it's been a while now since Youssef went down against Hibs, so we're really keen and eager to get the striker in that we want. Again, it's taken a bit longer, but it's not reasons the club are guilty for. We all know the importance of bringing in that quality at the top end of the pitch.”
McInnes confirmed no offers have been received for Nico Raskin, who has been left out of recent squads amid speculation linking him with Real Betis and Villarreal. He said: “In terms of outs, I don't think there's anything imminent on that. There's certainly not been any offers for Nico, if that's the next question. Obviously, it's normally the last couple of days of the window when things really crank up, so we need to be primed for that.”
Rangers are also looking to offload players, with Lyall Cameron, Ross McCausland and Connor Barron available for the right price. Bojan Miovski could leave on loan if the Kelsy deal closes.
Other Scottish clubs active
Aberdeen have paused talks over Killian Phillips, with St Mirren demanding £500,000 for the Irishman. Hearts have signed striker JJ Williams from Rhode Island FC on a two-year deal and made an approach for Faroe Islands U21 winger Aron Benjaminsen.
Motherwell secured Jardell Kanga, who scored on his debut against St Mirren, while Falkirk's John McGlynn has hinted at one more signing before the window closes.
