Trafford Centre Shoppers Warned of Delays for P.Louise Grand Opening on July 5
Trafford Centre Delays Expected for P.Louise Opening

Digital warning signs have been erected on Barton Dock Road, a key route to the Trafford Centre and Trafford Palazzo, alerting motorists to expected delays this Sunday, July 5, due to the highly anticipated launch of the P.Louise City lifestyle store. The signs, positioned at the roundabout between both shopping centres, read: "PLouise open 5th July. Queue likely - plan ahead."

P.Louise City Grand Opening Attracts Massive Crowds

The all-pink beauty megastore, taking over the former Homesense unit at Trafford Palazzo, will officially open its doors at 12 noon on Sunday. The brand, founded by Droylsden entrepreneur Paige Louise Williams, has generated enormous interest, with some fans already camping outside to secure a spot in the queue. The store spans 19,000 square feet across two floors and promises an immersive experience including a carousel, dance room, restaurant, and salon.

Originally slated to open in October 2025, the launch was postponed to ensure the venue met quality standards. Now, with the store nearly complete, centre bosses are bracing for a surge of visitors. The queue will officially open at 6am on Sunday, with a grand opening ceremony at noon. Shoppers are advised to enter via the Trafford Palazzo car park entrance, the only accessible entrance at that time.

Traffic and Queue Management Plans

A spokesperson for Trafford Palazzo said: “Excitement is building for the launch of P.Louise City at Trafford Palazzo and we are expecting a hugely popular opening day this Sunday. The P.Louise team will be on hand to help manage traffic flow and queuing around Trafford Palazzo. The queueing area will be located at the ground-floor and signage will point visitors in the right direction with P.Louise staff supporting.”

Due to anticipated high demand, parts of the queue may extend outdoors. Bosses advise shoppers to “dress appropriately for Manchester weather, including sun cream, a hat, an umbrella, and a coat.” The first 250 customers will receive an exclusive VIP beauty box, and entertainment will be provided for those waiting.

Impact on Other Shoppers and Transport

All other tenants at Trafford Palazzo, including Primark and Sports Direct, will remain open on Sunday. The tram stops on Barton Dock Road, serving both Trafford Palazzo and the Trafford Centre, are also expected to be busy. Centre bosses encourage customers to book other experiences and visits in advance to avoid disappointment, and recommend visiting the FAQ page on the P.Louise website for further information.
