TransPennine Express Airport Tickets Discounted for On the Beach Customers
TPE Airport Tickets Discounted for On the Beach Holidaymakers

TransPennine Express is offering discounted Manchester Airport train tickets to holidaymakers who have booked a trip with On the Beach. Eligible passengers can save 20 per cent on Advance tickets to and from the airport for a limited time.

Offer details and eligibility

The discount applies to travellers who booked an On the Beach holiday departing between August 24 and October 24, 2026. The promotion coincides with the launch of Aperol Spritz To Go cans on board all TransPennine Express trains, including services to Manchester Airport.

Aside from the discount, TransPennine Express offers advance fares to Manchester Airport from as little as £4.20. That is £1.30 less than the airport's £5.50 five-minute drop-off charge.

Cost comparison with road travel

Research by the rail firm found that passengers travelling by taxi or driving and parking spend an average of £63.90 before reaching the terminal. One in five spend more than £100 on the journey, meaning some road transport options can cost more than the price of the flight itself.

Adam Fairclough, Deputy Customer Experience Director and Head of CX for TPE, said: “With TransPennine Express Advance Purchase fares to Manchester Airport starting at £4.20, passengers can travel for a fraction of that cost, and with Aperol Spritz now available onboard, they can settle into a comfortable seat, enjoy a drink and get into the holiday spirit before they even reach the terminal.”

New overnight services

TransPennine Express recently introduced new all-night services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport as part of its May 2026 timetable. Trains now run roughly every hour throughout the night, seven days a week, making it easier for passengers with early departures or late arrivals to choose cost-effective rail travel.

The services also improve overnight connections for airport and hospitality workers and support Greater Manchester's night-time economy.
