Ceiling Collapses at Toby Carvery in Gloucester, Two Injured

Diners were forced to flee after the ceiling of a Toby Carvery restaurant in Brockworth, Gloucester, collapsed during a busy Sunday evening service. Two people were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with injuries.

Brandan Price-Davis, 26, who was dining with his girlfriend, described hearing a 'huge bang' before the ceiling came down, covering tables in dust and debris. He said a little girl at a nearby table was hit in the head by falling plaster.

Customers scrambled to leave the restaurant as dust filled the room, with children heard screaming 'I'm scared, what happened?'. Price-Davis noted that no staff were visible immediately after the collapse.

A spokesperson for Toby Carvery confirmed that a small section of the ceiling had been damaged, but stated that the building had been assessed as safe to use. Repairs are scheduled to begin imminently.

The company apologised to affected guests and said their care team would contact them directly. South Western Ambulance Service confirmed they transported two patients to hospital.
